Here’s a quick, belated update on the saga that is ‘the social network for the Original Ones’...
On Locals.com there is now a default or minimum amount of ‘coins’ to purchase monthly as a supporter. And Locals itself takes a 10% cut. (And Apple or Google will take another 30% when you purchase via the phone app.) I have yet to find how this default monthly coin purchase relates to the fact that exclusive USD subscriptions can also be defined for specific communities, which could obviously exceed this monthly coins amount.
Considering that FaceBook seems to be here to stay, we could turn this alternate web space into a more specialized network for the Original Ones. This would sidestep the current 'neither fish nor flesh' limbo status of the group here (it's not Explorers of Consciousness, but it's _not_ not Explorers of Consciousness either), and it would avoid the 'brand confusion' and polarization that arises when attempting to create 'a social network for the Original Ones'.
Should an interesting and valuable format eventually be decided upon, I could set a simple subscription and transition out of the whole coins layer altogether. But regardless of how it shapes up, likely the network will somehow interface with live gatherings on the Clubhouse app in future.
